INSET day, Ofsted and training new starters
I use The Key Safeguarding on INSET day to train all of my staff. The safeguarding essentials eLearning allows us to keep a single central register to report from – which is handy for Ofsted purposes. New starters joining mid-year also take the elearning course ahead of meeting with me to discuss our specific procedures. The assessment tool is really helpful as it allows me to spot gaps in staff knowledge mid-year, and informs me of what areas of training we need to focus on throughout the year.
The Key Safeguarding has made my role as a DSL so much easier and more time efficient.
Supporting my role as a DSL
The Key Safeguarding has made my role as a DSL so much easier and more time efficient. The elearning means that I don’t need to spend as much time inducting new staff as I used to. I’ve had great feedback from staff about the elearning – they like it because they’re able to engage with it in a quiet space at a pace that suits them. It’s also had a positive impact on my colleague who is in charge of managing the single central register as she’s able to stay on top of who has completed training. We use the parent and staff factsheets as part of our weekly safeguarding briefings, which means that staff are consistently getting a drip-feed of useful safeguarding resources. They can then save and read at their leisure – which has been very useful. It’s so handy to have ready-made resources like the factsheets as it saves us so much time.
Benefits to our school
I would definitely recommend The Key Safeguarding to other schools. It saves you so much time and gives you reassurance that you are covering exactly what needs to be covered. It’s streamlined the way that we deliver and report on safeguarding training and has given us confidence that all our staff are getting the information they need.Find out more View pricing
