Start with this general course to begin learning about pupil mental health and wellbeing.
This course will give staff, including teachers, support staff and senior leaders, the practical knowledge to be able to recognise the signs of poor mental health in pupils, and how to respond.
In around 55 to 60 minutes this course covers:
- What the term 'mental health' means and your role in supporting pupils' mental health
- How to identify pupils who might be more susceptible to poor mental health
- How to spot the signs of poor mental wellbeing
- How to support pupils with their mental health and wellbeing
- How staff can support their own mental wellbeing
Use this course to:
- Equip all staff to fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities around pupils' mental health
- Meet your responsibility under Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) to train your staff in pupil mental health
